“TRACES” Andres Barrioquinto’s art exhibit is entitled “Traces”, the different eerie paintings displayed with its different themes. Barrrioquinto’s artworks is seemingly obsessed with big eyes, smokes, lines with its different strokes of dark and light paints and values that conveys heavy emotions on the audience. His artworks was noticeably full of big wide eyes with an expression of stagnant, dull and fading of existence and happiness on the faces, even the lines on the foreheads of the subjects made a sense that society or that people have their struggles in life that they experienced. One would observe that these lines also convey the traces or the pieces of the past that had happen. This is affirmed by the fact that Barrioquinto is indeed “an artist who is connected to the past and also made a connection to the future”, (Winterson, Jeanette, 1995). Even the eyes has prevailed a sense of distress with its distorted features and melancholic expressions that is outward...
